Heavenly Perspectives & Spiritual DiscernmentBy Kevin Basconi

Heavenly Perspectives & Spiritual Discernment

Do you want to be filled with the divinity or nature of Elohim? You see, when we become filled with the nature of God, then we begin to have that spiritual discernment that we saw in 1 Corinthians 2, verse 9, activated in our lives: “But as it is written: ‘Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor have entered into the heart of man The things which God has prepared for those who love Him.’”

That’s what Jesus did. Jesus had a different concept about life and about ministry. Jesus did not look at circumstances the way we look at circumstances. They came to Jesus and said, “Lord, your taxes are due.” Jesus thought, “Ah! This is an opportunity for My God and Father to do something amazing!” He told them, “Go fishing. And the first fish you catch will have enough money in its mouth to pay the taxes.” (See Matthew 17:27.) Does that make sense in the natural? No! It is a supernatural exchange. Jesus entertained heaven, and here is come good news for you; you can entertain heaven too.

Heavenly Perspective

When our spiritual discernment is activated and flowing, then we no longer see things from our limited earthly perspective; we see things from a heavenly perspective. I want to see things the way my Father sees them. This is an operation of the seer anointing. We need to overcome our small mindedness and/or petty mindsets.

That’s the way I want to think. You see, God can give us supernatural wisdom and revelation that is not carnal; God can give us supernatural wisdom and revelation that is not earthly but that is mighty in God. This supernatural wisdom and revelation develops gradually (most times) in our lives as we become transformed into the image of Jesus. As a result our spiritual discernment is activated so that we can entertain, understand, or discern heavenly things. (For example, how Jesus paid His taxes.) This does not happen overnight. It happens over the course of time. It is a supernatural learning curve, so don’t get frustrated. Just keep trusting your heavenly Father to give you His good gifts (James 1:17). God can also drop wisdom and revelation upon you as He wills. Now that is a perfect gift!

I know folks who have come to our meetings over the past several years whose lives are transformed; not so much because hands have been laid upon them or not so much because of the preaching, but because they have come into the atmosphere where heaven is invading earth. They access the presence of the Lord and the glory of God in our gatherings. They’ve come into the atmosphere where the heavenly realms are manifesting—where miracles, signs, and wonders are taking place. People like this have their lives transformed because the way that they think is renewed by the presence and the Spirit of the living God. They see the reality of the Kingdom of Heaven modeled and realize that they can walk in the Kingdom too just as it has been demonstrated before them.

They no longer struggle with poverty, they no longer struggle with oppression, and they no longer struggle with sickness. There’s just a supernatural exchange that takes place. It is not hype! The Kingdom of Heaven comes and Heaven Touches Earth! In other words, what I’m saying is that sometimes in the heavenly realms, in the anointing, in the glory, the Kingdom of God is better caught than taught. In the atmosphere of heaven, God can transform your mind into the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16).

Above All

Let’s look at this dynamic again in Ephesians 3:19 where Paul is praying that you may be able “to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.” Let it be so! It ends with verses 20 and 21: “Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us, to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” What’s the key? Him—our Father who is in heaven—“who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams]” (Ephesians 3:20, AMP).

You see, we need to change the way we think. We need to change the way we think about heaven. Heaven is not necessarily “up there” (though it is); heaven is all around us. Heaven is not necessarily a destination that we are going to go to when we die and we put off this body (earth suit). The Scripture says to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8). Heaven is all around us right now. The issue is we don’t discern it. Our spiritual discernment may have grown dull or may not have been developed fully.

But occasionally we come to a place, a point in time, a moed, an appointed season, an eternal crossroads on God’s calendar where the heavens open. God has already preordained for you to access heaven today. It’s not going to be hard. It’s not going to be difficult. You can learn to discern the heavenly realms in your life NOW. You don’t necessarily have to go up to access heaven because heaven is all around you right now! You can live under an open heaven, but first you must learn to discern an open heaven.

There are people all over the world who are having encounters with heaven. By the grace of God through the power of the Holy Spirit (because of God’s grace upon my life) and by having the ability to write a few books about heaven and angels and the seer anointing, we get testimonies and emails all the time from people all over the world. These people are accessing the reality of heaven or entertaining heaven without trying. “Jesus stepped into my bedroom.” “I saw an angel in my car. When the angel was in my car a truck ran a red light and passed straight through my car and didn’t touch it and there was no damage! I should have been killed but somehow the truck didn’t even touch the car.”

We get these types of testimonies all the time. Why is that? Because the veil between heaven and earth is thin; it’s transparent; it’s more porous than any time in history. And you can enter into heaven too. It’s not about being a pastor or a teacher or a prophet or an evangelist or an apostle, as wonderful as those things are. It’s about being a son or daughter of the Most High God. God wants to pour out His Spirit upon His children. Last I checked the Lord said that He would “pour out of My Spirit on all flesh” (Acts 2:17)! I believe we are at a point in time when the realms of heaven are going to be poured out in such a powerful way that it will not be deniable. It’s going to be seen on mainline television. There will be no way to explain what happens. We don’t know why this happens, but it must be something supernatural. I’ll tell you what the supernatural is; it’s Jesus, it’s the God of Israel, it’s Elohim, it’s God the Father pouring out His Kingdom upon the earth. Watch for amazing testimonies of God intervening in the nation of Israel in the coming years. These supernatural interventions will be seen on international network television news programming. In fact, it has already happened!

Prayer of Impartation for Spiritual Discernment

Put your hand on your chest and pray out loud:

Lord, I ask You to reveal to me the secrets and hidden mysteries that eye has not seen and ear has not heard. Lord, I ask in Jesus’ name that You ignite my heart by the power of Your Spirit. Lord, let the Kingdom of Heaven enter into my heart. Father, I’m asking You to reveal to me the mysteries and the secret things that You have prepared for those who love You. And, Lord, I love You. I ask You, Father, in the name of Jesus, to reveal the fellowship of the mysteries of the unsearchable riches found in Jesus Christ. Lord, I ask that You reveal them to me. Reveal them to my spirit. Lord, I ask that You open up to me the manifold wisdom of God. Lord, I’m asking that You would give me eyes to see and ears to hear. Lord, I’m asking that You would release to me spiritual discernment to see and to hear in a new and supernatural way. Holy Spirit, I welcome You to try me. Father God, I ask You to create within me a clean heart and renew a steadfast spirit within me. In Jesus’ name I pray, amen.
