Send Some Suddenlies

I was actually called into the pastor’s office and he told me to stop going into the hospital and praying for the sick and leading people to the Lord as Savior. He said, “You have no right to lead people Jesus. You haven’t been trained and equipped to do that yet. I want you to stay here and help us out around the church; change lightbulbs, clean the toilets, paint the building.” You know what? I did. I painted the building, I changed lightbulbs; I did all that stuff. But I would just go out and do the evangelism as the Holy Spirit would lead me too, and just not tell the pastor. I was warned that I could be in serious trouble I was not an ordained minister. I was warned that the police could actually come and arrest me as I was not an ordained minister and it was illegal for me to pray for somebody in the hospital. Let me say this; that pastor is a man of God and I appreciate and respect him. But I’m not sure he understood what God was doing in my life. I want to take a minute to prophesy to you:

God is going to begin to send some suddenlies into your lives and into your ministries. And they are not going to look like what you think they should look like. Some of them are going to be strange. But God might anoint them with the gift of grace and with the power of God so that if you allow them and make room for them to minister that the Kingdom of God can come and revival can break out in your church and your sphere of influence.

I believe all of this was part of a training period for me, part of a process that God wanted me to walk out so I would see and discern things like that that I would encounter around the earth. I would also like to add that if you are not submitted to spiritual authority you will never really have authentic spiritual authority. Be sure to allow the precious Holy Spirit to connect you to the spiritual authority that He has designated for you to be under (Selah). It could be the princess and the pea dynamic!

The Bully Pulpit

So, there came a season of dryness when I wasn’t having visions, I wasn’t hearing the voice of the Lord. It was terrible! It lasted about a week. I had been going to heaven every day and fellowshipping with Jesus. You can read all about that in my new book “Visitations of Angels and other Supernatural Experiences Volume 3; HEAVEN”. But it just stopped, and I was so grieved. I’m thinking, “Oh, my God! What mortal sin have I committed?” I hadn’t sinned at all. God was just trying to get my attention.

After about seven days I had an encounter. The Lord spoke to me and said, “Iwant you to go to Newfoundland, Canada.” But, you see, I had already made other plans in my soul because of what was happening in the church. Have you been preached to from the pulpit? Some people call it the bully pulpit. I was getting that all the time. I was the sound technician in the church; it’s a tough job. Everybody wants to tell you what to do. So, I had already purposed in my heart that I was going to go to the Virgin Islands. That was it—St. John, Cinnamon Bay, just me and Jesus snorkeling with the tropical fish. It was going to be glorious. I’d already planned it; I decided I’d go in November when it was cold and my painting business was shut down.

Then the Lord finally speaks to me and says, “I want you to go to St. John’s.” I said, “Hallelujah!” Then He says, “Newfoundland, Canada.” I said, “That’s the devil. That is the devil. I am going to St. John in the Virgin Islands and snorkel,” because I love to snorkel. It’s one of my hobbies. Remember now, I’m coming out of drug addiction, darkness, hopelessness. Over the course of time, God healed my deaf ears; God healed my herniated disc, God healed my blood, and I knew that He was real. But now the Lord was telling me to go to St. John’s in Newfoundland, Canada, in November; I checked and it’s like 40 below zero there. I was convinced this was the devil.

So, I decided one day I would go visit my mother. I went up there and she was watching television; it was a special on Newfoundland, Canada, from National Geographic. A couple of days later I got a postcard from Newfoundland, Canada. A few days later the only person I know in Newfoundland, Canada, called me and prophesied to me: “The Spirit of the Lord told me to call you and say, ‘Thus saith the Lord, “Come to Newfoundland.”’” They were that kind of prophet, you know, Old King James jargon. “Thoueth haveth an appeleth sayeth the Lordeth”. There was a series of revival meetings. I’m still like, “Oh, this is the devil! I’m going to St. John in the Virgin Islands.” Again, this is a teachable moment because it is a demonstration of how God can speak to you in different ways.

After a while I decided I was really going to get to the bottom of the situation. I got to my prayer room. I didn’t have any money, so I was fasting. (I had given all my money away to the poor. If you want a breakthrough in your life, give all your money to the poor.) All I had in the house was ramen noodles and Kool-Aid; I think that’s one reason I was fasting. But I decided, “Boy, I’m going to get to bottom of this. I’m going to fast; I’m going to get into my prayer closet.”

Heavenly Places

My prayer closet was my bathroom in my little rundown house in a crack neighborhood. I finally got a place to live, and it was in this crack neighborhood where they were shooting off guns and stuff while I’m in there going to heaven. It was this little bitty place with this dingy carpet. I’d get in there with my head up against the toilet and my feet against the door and I would, whoosh, go up into heaven.

Teachable moment: It doesn’t matter where you are, God will meet you. And, as we find in Genesis 32, often it is when you are between a rock and a hard spot where you will find God.

Now I am going to get to the bottom of this. So I get back into the prayer room and say, “OK, God, I’m not coming to heaven. You are telling me to go to Newfoundland. I want to go to the Virgin Islands.” I have this debate with God for about three days. Back then I didn’t know you were not supposed to not take anything when you were fasting; I wouldn’t even drink anything. I would just do “true” fasts. I still fast. I was fasting and I had an encounter with God. The Lord said, “I want you to go to Newfoundland. It’s important that you go. I’m going to open it up for you to go to Newfoundland. And if you will go, I will open other doors for you that will lead to your destiny.”

A Conversation with God

I began giving the Lord excuses why I couldn’t do what He was instructing me to do. Sometimes when you are trying to press into this dynamic with the Kingdom of God—the seer realms or seer anointing—The Lord will tell you to do some strange stuff. If you don’t believe me, read the Book of Ezekiel. So I’m giving God all the excuses I could: “It’s cold. We are going to go snorkeling in Cinnamon Bay. You’ve got the wrong St. John. You’re gyroscope is off….”

Listen, God’s gyroscope is never off. God will take you to a specific place at a specific time where the heavens will open and He will rain down a blessing into your life. That’s Deuteronomy 28:12. It is an important scripture. I know by the Spirit of the Lord that for many of you who are reading this now, for you this can be your open heaven; this can be the time and the God ordained place where the Lord has ordained you to be at this particular moment of time to receive heavenly blessings. Deuteronomy 28:12 says,

The Lord will open to you His good treasure, the heavens, to give the rain to your land in its season, and to bless all the work of your hand. You shall lend to many nations, but you shall not borrow.

One of the signs of open heavens is rain—in the natural and also when the Spirit of God pours out His blessing. And if you want the work of your hands blessed, you need to get the heavens opened up over your life. When the heavens open up over your life, the blessings of God rain out upon you. If you’ve ever known anybody that just everything they touch multiplies and prospers, it is evident that the blessing of God is upon them. I know a few people like that. I want to tell you that anointing can be imparted. Read about this guy named Joseph in the Bible.

So, through a series of events I’m having this conversation with God. So I say, “OK, God, there’s no way I can go to Newfoundland. I can’t afford an airline ticket to Newfoundland.” This was right during the 9/11 crisis when prices on airline tickets plummeted. “All things work together for good to those who love God, and are called according to His purposes” (Romans 8:28). I said, “Lord, I don’t have enough money for an airline ticket.” He replied, “Check your bank account.” I checked my bank account and I had $212.12. The tickets were $211. You see, sometimes God gives you just what you need and you must step out in faith. If we take that step of faith, and God releases the miracles.

Seeing in the Spirit

So, I ended up going to Newfoundland, Canada. I am in this small church on November 25, 2001[[you say the 24^th in chap 3]]. God had me doing a series of prophetic acts. One of the things I saw was a swirl in the ceiling of the church (about the size of a fifty-cent piece , and this stream of golden oil began to pour out onto the carpet in the sanctuary. I’m looking at that during the intercessory meeting. I close my eyes, shake my eyes, open my eyes, and look and it’s still there. I think, “Wow! That was very unusual. Maybe they’ve got a leak in the ceiling of the building or something.” The Holy Spirit quickens me: “No, God’s opening up my spiritual eyes.”

Remember, I had been praying for the Lord to visit me like that dude Saul. I had been praying for God to allow me to see His angels in the natural, in the terrestrial realm. So the Holy Spirit quickens me and I go over right to the spot where this golden oil is coming out. I get down on my knees, and it hits me. It began pouring off of me, and the glory of God hit me. I went out in the spirit, and I went out in the visions of God. That night at the service God opened up my spiritual eyes and I began to see angels everywhere. I saw one particularly large angel. Over the course of the next four days, I saw that vortex get larger and larger and larger until eventually it was forty to fifty feet in diameter. And there were angels all around the circumference of the vortex. They were worshipping with the saints below. Isn’t that amazing?

I’m not making this up. This really happened. This is what you would call an open vision. I had an open vision of the Kingdom of Heaven. So I watched this over the course of four days. On Sunday, after these revival meetings, there was a young man named Dean who was undone. The pastor called him forward to give his testimony because he had seen Jesus Christ in the service. But Dean was just weeping and couldn’t speak and just fell out under the power of God. But Sunday night the pastor called Dean up again.

I am prostrate on the floor under the power of God—some would say slain in the spirit. And I am under such a heavy, weighty glory that I cannot move. I cannot move my fingers, I can’t move my arms, I can’t move my head. I can hear and I can see and I can move my eyes a little bit, but that was it. I was watching this vortex and these angels were just looking down and laughing at me. They were pointing at me and laughing at me and they were talking to one another saying, “Look at that one!” You see, angels don’t think the way we do and they find us very humorous at times with our charismatic activities. They are making fun of me; they are having fun with me.

I think, “It doesn’t get any better than this. The Lord has opened my eyes to see the angels.” There were angels all around. A section of the circle cleared and the larger angel from behind the worship team stepped up. He was about nine feet tall with long hair. When he did, the power and the glory of God increased. I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.” He made a motion and he said something in a language I could not understand. The angels moved and made a spot of about ten feet where there was nothing there. I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.”

He Descended

Then I saw Jesus Christ step up to that place and look down into the church service to the young man Dean who was giving his testimony. The testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. As the Lord Jesus held His hands out, manna, diamonds, rubies, and pearls rained down into the sanctuary. And I heard them hit the carpet and bounce around; and yes, I looked for them later when I could finally move. And I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.”

All of a sudden Jesus took a step with His left foot and He descended into the meeting. He walked up behind Dean and He put His hands on Dean’s shoulders as Dean was trying to give his testimony. He just continued to weep, but he managed to share his testimony. The Lord was so happy; he was like a proud father. He began to look from right to left. I watched as the Son of God, the risen Savior, the Messiah, Jesus Christ of Nazareth looked into the heart of every individual in the church. Somehow I knew that He was trying their hearts. I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.” Jesus took His time and looked into every person’s heart. I thought, “Gee, I wonder what He’s doing?” I knew that He was trying their hearts; He was discerning where they were, He was seeing their need, He was looking at them through eyes of love. I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.”

The glory of God that was rolling off of Jesus at that moment was incredible. Wave after wave of God’s love, wave after wave of God’s glory was rolling upon me. I watched as Jesus just looked at every single person in the church. Every time when He would look, He would smile and the glory of God would get more intense. And I said, “Oh, it doesn’t get any better than this. He’s answered my prayer.”

Then the Lord turned and He looked at me and smiled, and the glory of God just enfolded me. And then something supernatural happened within me. I realized I was going through deliverance and cleansing and being set free. I was being supernaturally transformed (2Cornthians 5:17). And then Jesus started walking towards me. I thought, “Boy, it doesn’t get any better than this.” Then He walked straight across, looking in my eyes, and stood over me. I saw the Son of God and looked into His eyes. The eyes of Jesus Christ are so beautiful! They are like two pools of living water. He has such a love of every tongue, every tribe, every nation that it cannot be articulated with human language. I was staring into the eyes of the Messiah, and all I could discern was His love. Billows and waves of His love came out and rolled across me.

I knew that I was being transformed. I was unable to more or even speak, but I could think. I thought, “It doesn’t get any better than this.” And then Jesus leaned down, and He looked at me very closely and smiled. Then He spoke to me. He looked at me and He said, “All power and authority has been given unto Me. Go, therefore, and teach the things I have commanded. Baptize them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. And I will be with you always, even to the end of the age. And I have good thoughts for you—a future and a hope.” (See Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:15, and Jeremiah 29:11.)

Somehow I saw Jesus put His hands down and I saw the scars on His hands; they are still there. And somehow I knew He wanted me to raise my left hand. Jesus took my hands in His hands and He blew upon my hands. When He did, the power and the glory of God washed over me in a level I have never experienced. It felt like oil rolled down my arm. Jesus stood over me for the next two or three minutes. I really don’t know how long it was. I was just lying there, and I gazed into the eyes of the Messiah and I was transformed. Hallelujah! I could have asked Him something. I could have asked Him anything, but I just couldn’t; I couldn’t move. All I could do was behold the Lamb of God. After a few moments He turned and He walked back over and He ascended into the heavenly places.

Killick Island

Shortly after that I began to have a radical increase in my ability to see into the spirit. I saw angels everywhere; angels everywhere I looked—angels and demons. But don’t worry about it. Luke 10:19, Matthew 10:1, and Mark 3:15 tell us God has given us authority over unclean spirits and to cast them out and to heal the sick. I started searching the scriptures because I knew it had to be scripturally sound; I searched the scripture for months.

Still in Newfoundland, I went to a place called Botwood, and there I was on Killick Island where I had a supernatural encounter with God. In that encounter God spoke to me in an audible voice and told me to go to Africa and become an armor bearer to preach the Gospel and to heal His precious children there. Remember, I’m the guy who just got off drugs; I’m the guy that was impoverished; I’m the guy that was $60,000 in debt; I’m the guy who doesn’t know how he is going to pay the rent; I’m the guy who can’t hear well; I’m the guy who has been beaten up in the church. Now the Spirit of God tells me to go to Africa and to pray for the sick. In my mind I thought, “That will never happen.” But out of my mouth came the words, “Yes, Lord.”

Teachable moment: Sometimes all you need to do is say, “Yes, Lord.” Say that right now: “Yes, Lord.”

Through a series of supernatural miracles, which has to do with angelic ministry and angels of provision, God opened up the doors for me to not only go to Africa but to minister and heal the sick. In fact, I’ve now been to Africa thirty-three times: “Go into all the world and teach the things I have commanded.” By the grace of God, we went to Europe, in Finland, and Sweden in 2015 and will be going to other nations soon. I have visited dozens of nations in which I have preached the Gospel since 2001. Praise God for that!
