Apostolic Prayers and Your Spiritual Senses (Seer Anointing)

If you study of the prayers of the Apostle Paul, you will find that he always prays about the good things God was doing in lives. Paul always searched for the gold in people and in the Body of Christ. Even when the church was embroiled in sin, Paul always started his epistles by recognizing and honoring the good things that were in the church he was addressing. That is an important lesson for us to remember as seers. The following prayer for the Ephesian church is a good example of this. I encourage you to pray this apostolic prayer of Paul over your life every day.

[I] do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers: that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation [the seer anointing] in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints [we are the saints; the inheritance is in us], and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places [glory realms], far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all (Ephesians 1:16-23, emphasis added).

This is an apostolic prayer. Paul prays for the eyes of your understanding “to be enlightened”; it means to shed light upon or to reveal clearly. We all have a “knowing” released to us by the Holy Spirit. This supernatural knowledge could be also defined as the gift of discerning of spirits or the seer anointing. This anointing of the seer realm will often work in symphony with the unction of the Holy Spirit as we have studied earlier.

When Paul prays for the “eyes” of your understanding, he is not referring to our natural eyes or eyesight. Paul is referring to the eye of the soul or spirit or our supernatural vision. The word translated “understanding” in this passage is the Greek word kardias, literally “heart.” Paul’s intention here is not the physical heart but the place of consciousness, self-awareness, or understanding; such as knowing, believing, or loving with “all of your heart.” This “understanding” can also mean supernatural thought or mind, or to have the mind of God or the mind of the Spirit of God, and/or to have or experience the mind of Christ.

Paul desired for people to understand that we have a spiritual inheritance and spiritual nature that we can step into. We need to understand our true nature in Christ. We have the mind of Christ (1 Corinthians 2:16). When the eyes of our understanding are opened, we begin to appreciate and comprehend who we really are in Christ Jesus. When the eyes of our understanding are activated, we can begin to see and enter into the Kingdom of Heaven. When we begin to enter into the realms of heaven, we can begin to appropriate the power and authority that is our heavenly inheritance.

When Jesus Christ’s body was lying in a grave, His spirit was busy. He plundered hell and took back the keys of death and Hades (see Ephesians 4:9; Revelation 1:18). He gave them to us; He has given us the keys to the Kingdom (Matthew 16:18-19). He has given us power and authority. As the seer anointing is activated in our lives, we can rise up above demonic powers and principalities and learn to live in the glory realms. From that place there is no warfare; from that place we receive revelation; from the glory we receive divine power to overcome the enemy and to live in total victory in Christ. This is another anointing and level of the seer anointing. We become seated with Christ in the heavenly places (Ephesians 1:3; 2:6).

Our spiritual senses allow us to be transformed into the likeness of Christ Jesus and activated into the seer anointing just like Jesus (John 14:12). Remember, Jesus was a seer.

Experience the Spiritual Realms

As our spiritual senses are opened, we will begin to experience things in the spirit realm. On numerous occasions the Lord has opened my spiritual eyes or the eyes of my heart and I have seen demonic spirits of infirmity. I have seen one spirit of infirmity that is associated with the flu. It looks like a combination of a Chihuahua dog, a bat, and a monkey. I have seen this spirit of infirmity clinging onto many sick people. When I command that devil to loose the person in the name of Jesus, the demon jumps off of their back and scampers away, whimpering as it goes. Other spirits of infirmity look like various types of serpents. These can be associated with chronic headaches, breathing problems, body pain, and especially back problems. Again, when you see these spirits of infirmity, you have all authority over them. The Lord first began to show these things to me in 2001 to help equip me to release healing in Africa to His people there.

Once I was in Tanzania on a missions trip with forty other people. Twenty-three of them got flu-like symptoms. We were having a prayer meeting one morning when my spiritual eyes opened. (This was right after Jesus visited me on the Sea of Glass like Crystal and told me to begin to study the seer anointing.) I saw these bat-like demonic beings hanging onto people. I said, “Wow, what is that, Lord?” He said, “That’s the flu. Break it off of them.” So I started praying for people. I took my spiritual sword out and cut these demons of infirmity off with my spiritual sword. Most of the twenty-three were instantly healed. The weapons of our warfare are mighty through God!

Stepping into Heavenly Places

Remember, Jesus told us, The Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner (John 5:19, emphasis added).

Our spiritual senses enable us to step into the spirit or heavenly places where our supernatural inheritance is waiting for us. Again, it is my opinion that Jesus saw into the demonic realm the way that I have just described. Spiritual senses or the seer anointing are an element of our very being. We are creatures created by God in His image with a spirit, soul, and body. We are created in God’s very image to “see.” You are created to live and breathe in the seer anointing.

Our five physical senses are the operation of our body, flesh, or carnal self. The eyes of our understanding, or spiritual senses, are the part of our spirit that can also comprehend things that are present in the spiritual realm in a similar fashion that our eyes, ears, nose, skin, and tongue perceive elements and phenomenon from the natural realm. Spiritual senses operate in the spiritual realm in a similar way that our five carnal senses detect elements in the natural realm. Our spiritual senses perceive elements and phenomenon from the spirit.

There are other types of demonic devices that you will be able to perceive when the gift of discerning of spirits is activated in your life. At times you will see the enemy’s weapons of warfare. I have on many occasions seen arrows, chains, knives, shackles, or darts that have pierced a person suffering from a number of debilitating conditions. When you remove the demonic weapons, these people are almost always immediately made whole.

Daily Prayer of Activation of Your Spiritual Vision

At this moment I bless my God and the Father of my Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed me with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ. And I pray that the God of my Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him. Lord, I ask in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that the eyes of my spirit might receive supernatural understanding and become enlightened.

I ask, Father, that I may know what is the hope of Your calling upon my life and comprehend what are the riches of the glory of the Lord’s inheritance in me. Lord, reveal to me what is the exceeding greatness of Your power toward me, because I believe. Lord, release to me the revelatory understanding according to the working of Your mighty power which You worked in Christ Jesus as He rose from the dead and You seated Him at Your right hand in the heavenly places.

Father, You placed the Lord Jesus far above every principality and power and might and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. Lord, make known to me all of the fullness and unsearchable riches of Christ. Help me to see and comprehend what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ.

For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. And I ask You, Lord, that You would grant unto me according to the riches of His glory, that I may be strengthened with might through Your Spirit in my soul and inner man. Lord, I pray that Christ may dwell in my heart through faith; that I will become rooted and grounded in the love of God.

Lord, I ask that I might comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height—and to personally know and experience the love of Christ, which passes all knowledge, that I may be filled with all the fullness of God. And I thank You, Lord, as You are able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask or think, according to the power of Your Spirit that works within me.

Lord, I thank You now that You are releasing to me the spirit of wisdom and revelation of Your Kingdom and the mighty effectual working of your power in my life—spirit, soul, and body. Thank you, Lord, that You are opening the eyes of my heart and helping me to see and discern the fullness of your Kingdom as it manifest in my life. And to You, Lord, be all the glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations forever and ever. Amen.
